Mezcal Montelobos was born from the vision and passion of Iván Saldaña, world renowned expert in agave and mezcal. By combining  Iván’s understanding of the agave plant and its flavors with the ancestral  knowledge of traditional maestros mezcaleros, Montelobos provides a series of extraordinary sensorial experiences—where each mezcal expression offers a unique and special proposition.

Montelobos has made these four expressions available:

The classic Montelobos Espadín from Oaxaca, is a perfectly balanced, extraordinary mezcal, capable of transmitting the primitive flavors and aromas of the Espadín (Agave angustifolia), in an incredibly balanced and sophisticated experience.

Montelobos Ensamble, incorporates three agaves in its making—the Papalote (A. cupreata), the Espadín (A. angustifolia) and the Tobalá (A. potatorum), cultivated from seeds in the arid lands of the Mixteca Poblana—to create a flavor landscape that presents a strong vegetal, mineral and fermentative profile.

Montelobos Tobalá, is a product for purists that quite literally distills the nature of this highly regarded agave plant. Presenting a sharp, herbal, buttery and sweet character, Montelobos Tobala is unique to its category peers.

Montelobos Pechuga, is produced from a third distillation with turkey and meticulously selected local seasonal fruits and spices. It offers a sensorial experience and pays homage to the traditions of Oaxaca.
